Superkick in Brussels: Osman Yigin and Lilian Dikmans

After arriving in Europe last week, my first stop was Poland with visits to Warsaw and Sosnowiec. Next stop was Brussels.

This was my second time visiting Belgium. Despite the masses of tourists, I have always enjoyed the city of Brussels. Grand Place, surrounded by beautiful Gothic architecture, is one of my favourite squares in Europe.

On our second day in Brussels, we met with Belgian kickboxing legend Osman Yigin. He’s a former 16-time world champion and 28-time champion of Europe from Charleroi, Belgium.

The city of Charleroi is about an hour’s drive from Brussels, but Osman was kind enough to meet us in Brussels. He took us for dinner and a walk around the city. It was a Sunday night, but since the following Monday was a public holiday, the streets were buzzing with people.

Manneken Pis

We had a lot of laughs, especially about the origins of the Manneken Pis. The famous Brussels landmark is a small bronze sculpture of a naked little boy urinating into the fountain below him. Watching steams of tourists crowding around the statue and taking photos, it’s a good representation of the Belgian sense of humour.

Next stop is Athens before returning to Warsaw for the Sarara vs Mozny world title fight on May 25 at PGE Norodowy.

A few fun days in Brussels 🖤 Next stop: Athens
