Good skin care is something I have always prioritised. I’ve written about my skin care routine before, but I get asked about it a lot so I thought I’d write a little update on what I’m doing as the cooler months roll in.
First up, eating well, drinking plenty of water and living a healthy lifestyle are honestly the best things you can do for your skin. However, since a large part of making my living is modelling work (and I’ve hit my 30s), I have to ensure that my skin is always looking as good as it can.
I go to Clinica-Lase in Carlton once a month for a skin care assessment and treatment based on what my skin needs. I often have to wear a lot of heavy makeup for work and with my rather sweaty training regime, busy schedule and long hours these monthly treatments help to keep my skin clear and balanced. However, the products that I use on my face every day are perhaps even more important.
Winter skin care
I’ve just added some additional products into my routine to help keep my skin hydrated during the cold weather – so at the moment, I’m using:
- Aspect Dr Deep Clean Facial Cleanser and Cosmedix Purity Balance Toner to thoroughly cleanse my skin and remove blemish-causing bacteria.
- Either Aspect Dr Mutli B Plus Serum or Aspect Extreme C 20 Vitamin C Serum for an additional boost.
- SkinMedica Lytera Skin Brightening Complex, which is one of the best products I’ve ever used. I had quite a bit of pigmentation from having acne in the past and from sun damage from when I was younger. After using it for about 6 months now I’ve noticed that the pigmentation has faded a lot.
I use all of these products under the supervision of Clinica-Lase as they are cosmeceutical grade with active ingredients so you have to be a bit careful. The products have also been recommended for my skin’s particular needs. Everyone’s skin is different, so it’s a good idea to get a skin assessment if you’re having skin issues and want to try some cosmeceutical products.
I hope that helps!
Rugged up for a Sunday coffee mission (already had one this morning, which is why I'm smiling) ☕️ P.S. for those asking about my skincare, I go to @clinicalase once a month for a skin assessment and treatment and I've just changed up my routine for winter – I've popped the details up on my blog if you're interested! <Link in my bio>
